"There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind"
~Washington Irving

Talachulitna king salmon

Get your rod and tackle ready!!

Fishing anywhere in Alaska is the experience of a lifetime. With the Talachulitna River nearby, fishing from HiLine Lake Lodge is no exception. A moderate 2 mile hike from the lake will bring you to this well known designated wild river.

Our favorite fishing spot is on a secluded, non-motorized section of the river (allowing you to peacefully enjoy angling without any "combat fishing" and noisy power boats). Wildlife and an occasional rafter will be your only companions at this beautiful section of the river, and the fishing is exceptional!

At various times throughout the year, the "Tal" has runs of all 5 species of salmon; Kings (Chinook), Silvers (Coho), Pinks (Humpies), Reds (Sockeye), and Dogs (Calico or Chums).

At any time, your catch can include native Rainbow Trout (catch and release only) and Greyling.

If you aren't feeling up to a hike, but still want to fish, you can always try your hand at luring Arctic Char and Burbot out of HiLine Lake.

Fishing licenses and King Salmon Stamp are NOT included in package price and are your responsibility to obtain in Anchorage before arriving at the lodge.

A non-resident, 7 day sport fishing license is $55

King Salmon Stamp is an additional $30

Please check out the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website adfg.state.ak.us for limits, rules, regulations, and updates.
